Primary Care For All of Your Child's Health Needs
From routine check-ups to specialty care for the most serious medical conditions, University Children's Health is ready to tackle your child's care with expertise and compassion, at your convenience. Our staff consists of specialists and board-certified pediatricians who are here to meet you wherever you need - be that in-person or over the phone for a telehealth appointment.
We’re here to keep your child healthy and deliver preventative care through every age and stage of their development. Our pediatricians provide health care for newborns up through the age of 17. In addition to treating injuries, we also identify and diagnose acute and chronic illnesses.
Annual Physical Exams are Key to Your Child’s Health
It’s important that you bring your child in for annual exams every year starting at the age of three. We provide vision screenings for children starting at age three and hearing screenings starting at age four.
Developmental screenings are also given. Your child is checked to see if they’re doing well in five different areas: communications, gross and fine motor skills, problem solving and personal interactions. If there’s a problem, we’ll recommend occupational, physical or speech therapy to help your child get back on track.
When you have a primary care physician who knows your child well, it makes a difference. All the medical information and records are sent back to one central person, usually your child’s pediatrician. This leads to better awareness of your child’s overall health condition and contributes to a more unified, successful care plan.
For your convenience, Children’s Health keeps your child’s health history in a secure electronic medical record. No matter what location within our system you go to, our providers have immediate access to this important information. It gives your child’s doctor a detailed view of test results, exams and assessments.
Some of our primary care services include:
- Well child checkups
- ADHD assessment
- Acute care
- Sports physicals
- School-based health centers
If your pediatrician or family physician’s office is closed and you need medical attention fast, go to our PediExpress walk-in clinic. Both our Medical Center Pavilion and our Robert B. Green Campus locations have board-certified doctors and advanced practice providers who can give immediate medical attention to your child.
