Medical Miracles Gala

Since 2006, University Health Foundation has brought our community together through the Medical Miracles Gala to celebrate health and healing, while providing for the advancement of critical care for future patients and their families. 100% of the proceeds raised at this event go to impacting the mission, benefiting patients of University Health.

2022 Medical Miracles Gala

University Health is the only Level I Pediatric Trauma & Burn Center in South Texas—Providing trauma care for nearly 2,000 children a year and treating up to 1,350 burn cases a year. In 2020, burns were the #1 injury for children under the age of five at University Health. Pediatric survival rates increase by 25% when a child receives care at a verified trauma center due to its full range of specialists, subspecialists, and technology. A quarter of those children will require lifelong outpatient care.

We invited our philanthropic community to help accelerate the University Health Pediatric Burn Center, bringing this vital program to fruition, and making these critical services available to patients and their families. There are multiple ways to participate and support the transformational impact created by this event.

Through the support of our generous event sponsors, we are able to honor people with stories of healing and hope each year, creating a measurable impact on the people we aim to serve.

2022 Honoree

Chaciti McMorris was 6 years old when she suffered devastating burn injuries and was rushed to the Level I Trauma Center at University Hospital in San Antonio. This video documents her inspiring journey to not only survive, but also thrive. The pediatric burn program at University Hospital was just getting started at the time, so Chaciti literally grew up alongside this program as it grew into one the nation’s top pediatric burn programs.
