Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy
Reeves Rehabilitation Center offers some of the most comprehensive pelvic floor treatments and therapies in South Texas. We treat incontinence, painful bladder syndrome, postpartum pain and many other conditions related to the pelvic area. Our highly-trained specialists also help patients with lower back and hip pain.
After a thorough examination and a review of your medical history, we develop a care plan tailored to you. Our physical therapists work with you to restore pelvic floor function and work towards reducing pain through multiple therapies that stretch and strengthen the muscles.
When needed, therapists use a biofeedback unit to measure muscle activity. The biofeedback device is used to retrain muscles during a time when there’s muscular dysfunction. This can be very helpful for those who struggle with urinary and fecal incontinence and numerous other medical conditions. Strengthening of pelvic floor muscles also enable many patients to return to normal sexual activity.
Manual therapy includes specialized techniques to help put joints and muscles back in alignment to increase mobility and minimize ongoing discomfort in your back, hips and legs.
We also provide postural education and training for our patients. Poor posture can prevent muscles from working properly and cause other muscles, ligaments and tendons to become inflamed.
