What to Expect
Our appointments begin early in the morning. Upon checking in with our reception team, a patient will receive a personalized schedule for the rest of the day. The precise agenda will be tailored to the patient’s unique needs, but appointments typically include:
- Blood work and imaging tests performed and processed on site by our experienced pathologists and radiologists
- One-on-one consultations with our hepatologists, oncologists, surgeons, dietitians, social workers, and other liver tumor specialists
- Tumor Board: an afternoon session during which our medical professionals will hold a multidisciplinary meeting to collaboratively determine the best approach for treatment, after which the patient will be given materials to help them understand their diagnosis
- Consultations with our interventional radiologists or transplant physicians, if needed
At the Texas Liver Tumor Center we strive to provide an exceptional level of comprehensive care and hepatology services in a patient-centered environment.
Each patient may see up to five physicians during their visit. Every patient has an evaluation by the hepatologist from the Texas Liver Institute, the Premier group in Texas providing hepatology care, as well as our experienced medical oncologist. Our cancer doctors specialize in hepatobiliary cancer and are renowned in their field.
The Texas Liver Tumor Center takes a concierge approach to each patient’s care. We are driven by patient care to have your imaging and blood drawn by our experienced medical technician so that your results will be available for review within an hour. Snacks and beverages are provided to make your visit more comfortable.
