Healthy Eating Habits
One of the key factors of living with diabetes is managing what you eat. At Texas Diabetes Institute, we take great pride in helping you and your family choose healthy foods and balance your food intake with regular activities and exercise. Choosing healthy foods and managing how much you eat will help you control your blood sugar level and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Our registered dietitians will help you create individualized meal plans that not only fit your needs, but also allow your family to adjust to making healthier lifestyle choices. Our “hands on” cooking classes will help you learn more about cooking foods that are good for you and taste great as well. Cooking classes are offered from 11 a.m. - noon.
Each class costs $5 and all participants get a chance to watch the preparation, taste the foods prepared and receive copies of the recipes. Everyone is welcome. Please call (210) 358-7100 to pre-register. Come join the fun!
