Kids in the hospital get cooking lessons and learn healthy meals can be delicious

BACKGROUND: How do you introduce kids to healthy eating? One way is to invite them into the kitchen and have them roll up their sleeves. Nutritionists with the San Antonio Food Bank are coming to University Hospital to provide a holiday cooking demonstration and lesson for young patients, to  show them how fun cooking can be — and encourage healthy eating.

WHO: San Antonio Food Bank nutritionists and young patients at University Hospital. 

WHAT: Two nutritionists will enlist the help of children in making two dishes: green bean almondine and key lime date ball.

WHEN: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16
