Contractor Kick-off meeting this Saturday is open to all
BACKGROUND: University Health System’s $899.4 million Target 2012: Capital Improvement Program is one of the largest construction projects in San Antonio history. It will position the academic medical center and Level I trauma center at University Hospital, owned by the taxpayers of Bexar County, to meet the hospital needs of our growing region well into the future. It will also significantly expand University Health System - Robert B. Green Campus to provide even greater access to the latest outpatient diagnostic and treatment options in a convenient location.
In addition to these much-needed health facilities, the project is also providing a welcome “shot it the arm” to the Bexar County economy – as University Health System is working closely with Bexar County Commissioners to assure that as much of the work as possible is done by local businesses and construction subcontractors.
Anyone hoping to work on either of these two major construction projects is welcome to attend a free informational meeting this weekend to learn more about upcoming opportunities. This Contractor Kick-off meeting will be Sat., Feb. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Philip’s College.
