Microbiology Scientist

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

Performs procedures for testing or analysis on specimens submitted to the laboratory.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological science
  • OR

  • High school graduate or equivalent, successfully completed military training of 50 or more weeks, and served as a medical laboratory specialist

Certifications:

Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) is required.

Insurance Collector

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

The Insurance Collector is responsible for reviewing accounts to ensure accurate reimbursement. They will identify payor issues affecting payment delays and follow-up with Managed Care and contact patients and other third party payor organizations to secure payment or arrange alternative payment/settlement plans. Collectors independently interact with federal, state, third party payors, agencies, physicians, departmental directors and outside related vendors.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 1 years of hospital experience dealing with insurance companies, 3 years preferred.
  • Knowledge of payor guidelines and contracts are required.
  • On-line Medicare/Medicaid and Commercial verification is preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer, calculator and 10-key experience.

Medical Laboratory Scientist II

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

  • Requires at least 2 years’ experience in clinical laboratory experience in the specific department worked
  • AND

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological science
  • OR

  • High school graduate or equivalent, successfully completed military training of 50 or more weeks, and served as a medical laboratory specialist.

Certification:

Pharmacy Liaison

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

The Pharmacy Liaison will meet daily metrics by consenting patients and increasing patient adherence ensuring patients receive prescription medications following their appointment. The individual will work with University Health Clinic and Pharmacy staff to provide an optimal patient experience. Candidate must be flexible, self-motivated, have previous inside sales and healthcare experience. Excellent customer service skills are required to educate patients about the Pharmacy Program, facilitating access to prescription medication onsite, at the University Health Clinics.

Education/Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent experience is required.
  • College or commercial school courses in marketing, sales, business or other related areas is preferred.
  • Two or more years inside or outside sales experience preferred
