BECOME A PART OF OUR TEAM
The mission of University Health System is to promote the good health of the community by providing the highest quality of care to both inpatients and outpatients, by teaching the next generation of health professionals and by supporting research, thereby advancing medical knowledge and improving the delivery of patient care.

Junior Volunteer Requirements

The University Health System Junior Volunteers program only takes place over the summer. Junior Volunteers are asked to commit to 75 hours over a four week period. Your mandatory schedule is Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

  • Session 1: June 11, 2012 to July 6, 2012
  • Session 2: July 16, 2012 to August 10, 2012
  1. Must be between 15 and 18 years of age and still in high school.
  2. Submit an application including all supplemental documentation listed in the application.
  3. Schedule a mandatory interview with the volunteer coordinator. Parents are required to attend a mandatory interview, along with the Junior Volunteer. Please note that this interview is not a guarantee of placement in the program.
  4. Complete and pass a health screening, urine drug test and TB test.
  5. Receive an annual flu shot.
  6. Complete orientation.
  7. Purchase a volunteer shirt.
  8. Complete training.

Dress Code:
Uniforms are extremely important. They are recognizable and represent the professionalism expected of our volunteers. It is mandatory you wear your picture ID badge, mid-chest or higher, at all times.

Blue Polo Shirt with JV patch on left sleeve: The cost is $11.34-$12.85, depending on size. These shirts should be worn with tan or khaki pants, closed toed shoes and socks up to the ankles or longer. No hide-away socks please.
