The Center, which features the most advanced equipment and technology, offers the full range of diagnostic and treatment services.

"While we certainly offer various surgeries, a major emphasis for our efforts includes non-surgical approaches such as medicines, behavioral therapy and biofeedback," explains Dr. Stephen R. Kraus, medical director of the South Texas Pelvic Floor and Bladder Center and assistant professor, Division of Urology, UTHSCSA. "We also offer minimally invasive options such as procedures performed under local anesthesia."

Realizing that urinary incontinence often goes hand-in-hand with other pelvic floor disorders, the latest diagnostic services related to voiding problems and fecal incontinence/prolapse of the rectocele are also available. This includes Anorectal Manometry equipment as well as conservative treatment approaches.
