Is Depression Common?

Depression affects more than 19 million Americans each year. One fourth of all women and one eighth of all men will suffer at least one episode of depression in their lives. Approximately 3–5% of the teen population experiences clinical depression every year. If you suspect you or a friend might be clinically depressed, it's time to “Talk it Up” and find someone who can help! Talking to a trusted adult is the best way to find help.
