University Health System is the proud recipient of the 2010MedAssets Supplier Diversity Excellence Award. The Supplier Diversity Excellence Award recognizes the healthcare provider that demonstrates an organizational commitment to support the entry, growth and sustained success of diverse suppliers in the healthcare industry through an established supplier diversity program.

Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Executive Director’s Award

University Health System was recognized for its partnership to develop a Small Business Academy - The Small Business Academy was formed in 2009 by nine local governmental organizations to provide assistance to small, minority, women, veteran, or disabled individual owned business enterprises. The Small Business Academy Consortium members are: Alamo Colleges, BexarMet Water District, Edwards Aquifer Authority, San Antonio Housing Authority, San Antonio River Authority, San Antonio Water System, University Health System, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and VIA Metropolitan Transit Authority. The Small Business Academy Consortium was presented with the 2011 “Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Executive Director’s Award” for outstanding services and advocacy for minority owned businesses in the San Antonio area.
