The EKSO exoskeleton is a wearable bionic suit which enables individuals with any amount of lower extremity weakness or paralysis to stand and walk. The state-of-the-art, robotic suit has adjustable, battery-powered motors that drive the legs and facilitate neuromuscular walking function. In addition, the exoskeleton allows the therapist more freedom to concentrate on the patient’s recovery compared to traditional tools.
The EKSO can be used on individuals recovering from:
- Spinal cord injury
- CVA/Stroke – hemiparesis or hemiplegia
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Guillain-Barre Syndrome
- General weakness caused by other conditions
A screening and physician referral is required before EKSO exoskeleton use.
