Conditions we care for include:

  • Extreme prematurity – babies born before 26 weeks of pregnancy
  • Gastroschisis – abdominal organs formed outside the baby’s belly
  • Osteopenia of prematurity/metabolic bone disease – a condition in which bones have an increased chance of breaking
  • Osteogenesis imperfecta – genetic disorder in which bones break easily
  • Short gut/bowel syndrome – a condition caused by surgical removal of large portion of the intestine

  • Parenteral Nutrition Associated Liver Disease (PNALD) – inflammation to the liver due to prolonged IV nutrition

  • Duodenal, jejunal or ileal atresia – a portion of the small intestine that has not formed correctly, creating a blockage
  • Intestinal dysmotility – slow digestion
  • Congenital heart defect – a heart condition that may result in low blood oxygen levels requiring surgical correction
