Program Services:

Role:
  • To provide screening, assessment, planning intervention (psycho-education, counseling and referral), and outcomes for patients struggling with chemical dependency
  • To educate future LCDC’s by providing educational environment and clinical opportunity to merge theory into practice
  • University Hospital does not provide inpatient or outpatient detoxification. Referrals are made to community programs after medical examination, screening and assessment

Purpose:

  • To reach as many patients (and their families) as possible who may be at risk or currently struggling with vicissitudes of chemical dependency

Intention:

  • Reduce costly human suffering, provide a menu of options to receive help and decrease the rate of recidivism

Project Hope:

  • Project Hope Coordinator: Melissa Snow, BA, LCDC
  • Goal: To help bridge the gap for patients from institution to community.
  • Group of women and men who share their experience, strength and hope in the fellowship of AA/NA. Make one-to-one bedside visits.
  • Every Wednesday night AA/NA meeting on 9th floor from 6:00-7:00 pm. Project Hope volunteers present at meetings.
