Having a baby is a very special time. Our obstetricians and nurses are committed to providing attentive and excellent care throughout your pregnancy and birth. All of University Hospital's inpatient obstetrics rooms are private suites, equipped with many conveniences, including private bathrooms and shower, and space for a family member to stay overnight.

Our supportive OB/GYN, pediatric and family medicine physicians are available 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week. The obstetrics practice at University Health System also partners with other specialties to provide a broad spectrum of women's health services, including gynecology and breast health.

We also provide specialists and assistants-such as newborn nursery nurses and lactation consultants-to support new and expecting moms through each new experience. Up-to-date with the latest advancements in obstetric nursing, many of our nurses have national certifications for inpatient obstetrics, advanced fetal monitoring, childbirth education, lactation consultation and medical surgical nursing.
