University Hospital searching for family of homeless patient

(SAN ANTONIO, TX - October 19, 2009) Social workers at University Hospital believe that 62-year-old Edward Parks may have family and friends who care about him. They just don’t know who or where those persons might be.

Mr. Parks was admitted to University Hospital on October 6, after he was found by SAPD in the downtown area. He has no form of identification and, due to his altered mental status, the only information he has been able to provide is his name.

Mr. Parks is listed in stable condition and is now ready to be discharged but, without a safe place to go, University Hospital cannot let him leave. Hospital officials are asking the community to help find his family.

If you recognize this person, or know his family, please contact University Hospital social workers at 210-358-2300.
