Give kids the BEST shot at staying well
- Parents reminded to get their children immunized before school starts-
(San Antonio, TX) Making good grades and keeping up with homework is important to parents of children starting school. But performing well in school starts with good health. That’s why University Health System is offering back-to-school immunizations over the coming weeks.
Having your child vaccinated is the best way to help fight dangerous and preventable diseases. Texas law states all public school children must have up-to-date immunizations before returning to school. Parents are encouraged to visit their healthcare providers to ensure immunization records are current and to plan early to avoid long lines.
Immunizations will be available at various University Health System clinics beginning August 2. Vaccinations are free of charge to children who present a valid Medicaid or CHIP card. Children eligible for the Vaccines for Children Program will be charged $10 for each shot received.
