University Hospital searching for family of homeless male patient

(SAN ANTONIO –April 15, 2009) University Hospital is looking for the public’s help in finding friends or family of a patient who came to the hospital last week after being hit by a car. 70-year-old Santiago “Simon” Molina is not able to communicate well, so social workers at the hospital are not able to determine where he lives or who has been caring for him. He is ready to be discharged, but unless someone comes forward, there is no place for him to go.

Mr. Molina was brought to University Hospital by San Antonio EMS on April 7 after being hit by a vehicle. Social workers believe he was struck on the Westside of San Antonio near Buena Vista and South General McMullen.

Mr. Molina says he is from Bandera, TX and only speaks Spanish but is not able to remember any family history.

If you recognize Mr. Molina or know his family, please contact University Hospital at 358-2300.
