This class provides parents with information on building a respectful relationship with their child and discovering the child's strengths. It also guides participants in looking for and discovering their parenting patterns. Light snacks and prizes are provided. Parenting is for All: Part II
Making Connection-Helping Build Brains, Supporting Development (Birth to 18 months)

This class helps parents understand how to provide the best conditions for ultimate brain growth and development. Parents will also learn to identify typical behaviors for each age as well as how to encourage appropriate development and foster self-esteem. Light snacks and prizes are provided. Class meets the second Saturday (English & Spanish), 4th floor, Newborn Nursery Conference Room. Free.

Parenting is for All: Part III
Supporting Development and Learning through Play (18 months to 3 years)

This class focuses on identification of typical toddler behaviors, ways to support learning and developing independence. The class also covers "learning through play," including the four building blocks of play and how play affects potential leaning. Instruction includes learning to distinguish between active and passive toys. Light snacks and prizes are provided. This class meets the third Saturday (English & Spanish), 4th floor, Newborn Nursery Conference Room. Free.

Parenting is for All: Part IV
Children and Books-Keys to School Success, Promoting Positive Behavior

This class focuses on creating a rich learning environment at home. This program guides parents in choosing ways to support children's senses and motor skills and how to explore effective learning by means of active involvement. Promoting positive behavior includes discovering common causes of misbehavior, balancing limits and freedom and learning effective skills for guiding behavior. Light snacks and prizes are provided. Class meets the fourth Saturday (English & Spanish), 4th floor, Newborn Classroom. Free.
