Operations supports the Judicial System and the Adult and Juvenile components of the CHCS with many important services.
Health Records
Transmission of copies of health and/or mental evaluation records to the courts and records testimony if required, and provision of health records for patient transfers, lawsuits and other legal actions such as court ordered forensic DNA blood draws.
Billing
Initiation of charges for adult inmate services provided by the staff to detainees and outside agencies.
Clinical Appointment Coordination
Coordination with the County Sheriff's Office and Juvenile Probation Department to schedule patient movement to clinical appointments/procedures.
Court Services
Performance of court ordered Competency/Sanity evaluations and provision of expert testimony when ordered.
Supply
adequate stock levels of medical, dental and office supplies are maintained by this section.
Administrative Support
Transcription of reports, consultations, evaluations and treatments.
Coordination of Ancillary Service
Coordination of intergovernmental supports such as Information Systems, Maintenance, Life Safety Codes provided by Bexar County and University Health System.
