Dr. David F. Jimenez and Dr. Constance M. Barone are the developers and pioneers of a newer, minimally invasive endoscopic assisted techniques used to treat the set of conditions known as craniosynostosis or premature closure of skull sutures. They currently have the world’s most experience using these techniques and have performed over 400 procedures (Endoscopic Craniectomy) with excellent results. Their results have been published in multiple peer review medical journals, book chapters and other publications.

These procedures consist of removing the prematurely closed sutures through small scalp incisions and then with endoscopic assistance, small strips of bone (coronal, metopic, or lambdoid synostosis) or larger sections of bone (sagittal). Following surgery, patients are fitted for helmets which are used to gently mold the head into its normal shape. Helmets do not restrict brain growth but rather redirect it. These procedures provide parents and surgeons with safe and efficacious alternative for treating infants born with craniosynostosis.
