We are pleased to be able to offer scholarships once again as we've worked very hard to raise sufficient funds. This scholarship program is vital to University Health System in ensuring that our facilities have adequate numbers of LVN's and RN's," said Rick Lewis, Chair, and University Health System Foundation Board of Directors.
The criteria to receive a nursing scholarship have been slightly modified and the highlights are:
- Scholar must be employed by University Health System for at least one (1) full year prior to applying for scholarship.
- Scholarship recipient must provide confirmation of acceptance to an accredited Nursing School program to be eligible for funds.
- A maximum of $2,000 in financial support will be awarded per calendar year for tuition and books. Funds will be reimbursed at the completion of each semester once the academic standard Grade Point Average (GPA) is confirmed.
- A maximum of two (2) years of scholarship funds will be provided to a Scholar seeking an ADN or RN. A maximum of three (3) years of scholarship funds will be provided to a Scholar seeking a BSN.
- Academic standard must be maintained at a 3.0 GPA.
- Six (6) volunteer hours will be required per year of Nursing Scholars to support University Health System Foundation efforts.
