University Health System in collaboration with
the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) provides
a variety of medical, educational, and counseling
services, including:
- Comprehensive health
assessments for both men and women, which
includes medical history and physical examination
- Routine and problem-related
medical follow-up visits and contraceptive
supply visits
- Laboratory testing,
including Pap smears, tests for sexually transmitted
diseases, screening for diabetes and anemia,
and urine tests
- Treatment for STDs
and common genitourinary infections
- Preconceptional counseling
to support healthy outcomes of future pregnancies
- Pregnancy testing and
non-directive counseling and referrals
- Postpartum evaluations
- Basic infertility assessments
- Education on reproductive
anatomy and physiology, the general benefits
of family planning services and an overview
of available contraceptive methods and abstinence
- Provision of Federal
Drug Administration-approved contraception,
including voluntary sterilization, and a referral to instruction
on Natural Family Planning
- Screening for domestic
violence/abuse
- Community Health Education
- Social Services Referrals
