Work-Related Injuries

Injured Workers
If you have been injured in a work-related injury and your employer is a "subscriber" to the Texas Workers' Compensation system, then you have certain rights and obligations.

If you have been injured in a work-related injury and your employer is not a "subscriber" to the Texas Workers' Compensation system, then you will need to establish with your employer to what extent they will be covering your medical expenses. You may be responsible for a portion or all of your medical care expenses.

Employers
If you are a subscriber to the Texas Workers' Compensation system, you have certain rights and obligations. It is important that you understand these so that you can help your injured employees get the care they need and minimize days out of work.

If you are not participating in the Texas Workers' Compensation system, then you have no rights or obligations under that system. If you choose to seek care for your injured employee, we will look for written confirmation directly from your company that you are assuming liability. Otherwise, we will need to collect payment from the patient at the time of service.

Additional Workers Compensation information regarding the State of Texas is available at http://www.state.tx.us/category.jsp?categoryId=4.7
