Licensed Vocational Nurse- Adult Detention Health Care Services

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Adult Detention Center
  • Night shift; Rotating weekends. Excellent shift differential pay.
  • Newly-hired experienced LVNs in the hospital and clinic participate in our Nursing Orientation for Clinical Excellence (NOCE) program

Qualifications include:

  • HS Diploma Required
  • TX LVN License
  • Current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card required.

Financial Transplant Coordinator

The Financial Transplant Coordinator manages the progression of charge capture, billing, and collection functions of Heart/Lung Transplant patients in accordance with federal and state billing and compliance guidelines as well as internal policies. The Coordinator also verifies insurance authorizations, ensures appropriate charge capture, monitors collections, and verifies accurate payment. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for the complete episode of care for all patients and potential candidates, including pre-transplant financial clearance and assessment, post-transplant follow-up, coordination of services, and maintenance services for the extent of the services provided to the patient. The Coordinator interfaces with external financial entities and insurers to verify authorization for all services related to transplants, as well as monitors reimbursement and cash collections to ensure contracted rates are remitted.

Qualifications include:

  • HS Diploma Required
  • TX LVN License
  • Current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card required.
  • One year nursing experience preferred

Supervisor, Claims

Supervises University Health System’s Claims Processing Unit and assigned staff. Attends Monthly meeting, plans and coordinates workload. Reviews system problems and takes any action necessary for correction of the problem. Tracks pending report to ensure claims are resolved within a timely manner. Will review provider contracts to determine appropriate processing method. Attention to detail by identifies processing error trends and implements procedures to correct these errors.

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma
  • Five (5) years claims experience
  • HMO/PPO claims experience
Preferred:
  • One to two (1-2) years supervisory experience

NICU/High Risk Dietitian

The clinical dietitian works closely with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient's medical program goals and objectives. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy specific to neonatal nutrition using established standards of care and practice protocols/guidelines; managing resources in a cost effective manner; participating in performance improvement efforts; and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice.

Qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field is required
  • Completion of either an The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved dietetic internship or a program in hospital dietetics approved by the ADA.
  • Experience with Pediatric or NICU is highly desirable
  • Must be Registered Dietitian
  • Texas Licensed Dietitian

Utilization Denial Manager

Manages and supervises the Nurse Case Managers, Authorization Nurses, and clerical staff of the Utilization Management Department. Ensures that inpatient concurrent reviews and retrospective reviews are performed correctly utilizing UHS's selected medical necessity screening tool.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Minimum of two years recent management experience; three years of hospital clinical nursing experience and one year experience in case management, utilization review or hospital quality assurance
  • RN license & BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of all payer requirements in all areas of the authorization, clinical review, and appeal process

Technical Liaison – Resource Center

The role of the Resource Center (Contact Center) Technical Liaison is to serve as a liaison between the Resource Center Operations and the Resource Center technical and consulting resources. Provides computer project technical expertise to include project management and technical guidance and direction in the implementation and operation of computer software technologies used for financial, clinical and administrative systems. Organizes and schedules a variety of major and/or complex computer system tasks, including programming, in a timely and proficient manner and in compliance with University Health System policies and procedures.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five years of programming and system analysis experience is required.
  • Working knowledge using one or more of each of the following:
    • Languages: SQL: T-SQL, PL/SQL, Micro Focus COBOL, .net – ASP, VB, C
    • Databases: MS SQL Server 2005/200
    • Software: MS SQL Server: Management Studio/SSIS/SSRS/BIDS, MS Office, FTP

Director - Performance Reimbursement and Incentives

Responsible for successful definition, implementation and maintenance of complex reporting and analysis delivery requiring cross-functional collaboration and interdependencies between clinical and non-clinical activities involving high-impact risk factors. Combines managed care acumen, technical capabilities and partnership-centric approach to enable CFHP and provider partners the opportunity to transition to risk-based business models in a risk-enabled infrastructure.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience in Commercial HMO, Medicaid and/or Medicare government programs related to quality programs and/or risk adjustment required
  • Ability to understand clinical terminology and provider incentive structures, advanced problem solving and ability to perform advanced feasibility and cost/benefit analysis required
  • Demonstrated, expert-level background in SQL Server and SAS programming and reporting (not system administration) required
