This knowledgeable and caring professional RN will be working with individuals living with diabetes and their families. It is the role of the Diabetes Nurse Educator educate the diabetes patient and to assist in the development of diabetes patient education activities.
Qualifications:
BSN required. . Formal training in diabetes education and/or recent experience for three years in inpatient or outpatient care of diabetes is required. Demonstrated teaching experience and knowledge of adult education principles, ability to deliver and evaluate adult education programs. Experience with continuous glucose monitoring systems and as a pump trainer considered an asset. Current TX RN licensure is required. Certification CDE must obtain within two years of employment. Must maintain valid American Heart Association CPR (BLS) certification. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
