Adult Diabetes/Endocrinology

At TDI, we take pride in knowing that we have the best services available. In our Adult Endocrinology Clinic, we don’t spare a thing. Our state-of-the-art evaluation and treatment of glandular diseases ranks us among the top. These diseases include:

Our goal is to prevent the devastating complications of diabetes. The easiest way of doing that is to bring in the best doctors. And that’s just what we did. Our team is led by

Charles Reasner, II MD

serves as Medical Director of Adult Diabetes/Endocrinology and is a Professor of Medicine at the UT Health Science Center (UTHSC) at San Antonio. He is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California, and served his Residency at USAF Medical Center, Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. He completed a Fellowship in Endocrinology at USAF Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Kathy Ann La Civita, MD, F.A.C.E., F.A.C.P.

serves as a Clinical Endocrinologist at the Texas Diabetes Institute and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the UTHSC - San Antonio in the Division of Diabetes. She received her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine and completed her Residency at Wright-Patterson USAF Medical Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Fairborn, Ohio. She completed her Endocrinology Fellowship at USAF Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes. She recently received the American Diabetes Association Recognition with Distinction honor.

Rachel Y. Rusinko, MD

serves as a Clinical Endocrinologist at the Texas Diabetes Institute and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the UTHSC - San Antonio in the Division of Diabetes. She received her medical degree and completed her Internal Medicine training and Endocrinology Fellowship at the UTHSC at San Antonio. She is Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. She recently received the American Diabetes Association Recognition with Distinction honor.

Aruna Venkatesh, MD

serves as a Clinical Endocrinologist at the Texas Diabetes Institute and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Diabetes at the UTHSC - San Antonio. She received her medical degree from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India and completed her internship at University of Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii and residency at Primary Care Program of Austin, Texas, where she also served as the Chief Resident. She completed her Fellowship in Endocrinology at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Gloria L. Ocampo, MD

serves as a Clinical Endocrinologist at the Texas Diabetes Institute and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio in the division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Dr. O'Campo received her medical degree from the Pontificia Bolivariana University in Medellin, Colombia and completed her Internal Medicine Training and Endocrinology Fellowship at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. She is Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Dr. O'Campo is also fluent in Spanish.

Eugenio Cersosimo, MD

is currently the Medical Director of Clinical Research at the Texas Diabetes Institute and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. He obtained his medical degree at the Universidade Federal Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and moved to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where he graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Physiology and Metabolism. He served his medical residency training and Endocrinology fellowship program at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota with a special degree in Clinical Investigation.

Nicolas Musi, MD

serves as Associate Medical Director for Research at the Texas Diabetes Instituteand an Assistant Professor of Diabetes Medicine at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. He obtained his medical degree from the Universidad Anahuac, Mexico City, Mexico.  Dr. Musi specialized in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami and in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Harvard Medical School. Dr Musi is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.  Dr. Musi is fluent in Spanish.
